Phone scam identified in Hounslow

Community Environment Officers from Hounslow Highways have identified multiple yellow posters advertising for a live-in female cleaner on Bath Road near Hounslow West tube station.

The posters were affixed to lamp columns, bollards and display windows. Upon investigation of the source, it was identified that the number charges callers for contacting them and there is no job offer in question.

The posters have been removed by Hounslow Highways, however we strongly encourage residents to be vigilant and report any further posters they see by ringing 0208 583 2000 or visiting Hounslow Highways. We also urge residents not to contact the number on the poster for their personal and financial safety and security.

Fly-posting is a criminal offence punishable under Section 224/225 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 and Section 132 of the Highways Act 1980.
