Hounslow Highways helps ensure smooth cycling

Hounslow Highways cleansing crews were out in force recently to ensure the streets were clean for the tens of thousands of competitors and spectators who turned out for the Prudential Ride London.

The FreeCycle event, held on Saturday August 3, and the Prudential Ride London Classic and Surrey 100, held on Sunday August 4, saw large numbers of people flock outdoors to enjoy the race and the warm summer weather.

To support the event, Hounslow Highways crews worked tirelessly from 4am on Friday morning until 10pm on Sunday evening to ensure the roads, footpaths, subways, pedestrian crossings and traffic islands were kept as clean and tidy as possible during the events and to clear-up afterwards.

Community Environment Manager Lorraine Srivastav said: “The event was a success and our cleansing crews maintained the cleanliness of the area throughout the whole weekend. Hounslow Highways prides itself on assisting with community events such as these and we’re happy to have been able to provide this service.”
