On Saturday 22nd April 2017, Hounslow Highways was on hand to provide cleaning equipment to residents from Sidmouth Avenue and Crawford Close.

The residents came together to clean up their local neighbourhood. The group, which included entire families and Councillor Tony Louki, spent the morning clearing rubbish off the roads, pavements and alleyways.

Hounslow Highways Community Environment Manager Lorraine Srivastav worked with the Council and residents to coordinate the day. It involved the Council delivering a skip to the site, and Hounslow Highways supplying residents with litter pickers, gloves and plastic bags.

Lorraine said, “I really like to get involved with the clean-up days. It’s great because it encourages great community spirit and spreads an important message about street cleanliness. It’s great to see residents who are so passionate about their community come together in this way, and we at Hounslow Highways want to continue to support more clean-up days like this.”

Hounslow Highways Divisional Director Martin Clack said, “Everyone wants to live in a clean neighbourhood and Hounslow Highways is always striving to help deliver that. It’s important that residents understand we don’t just deliver services; we like to work hand-in-hand with the local community in Hounslow to help keep their neighbourhoods free of litter.”
