Hounslow hires local street cleaners

Six Hounslow residents have been employed by Hounslow Highways to add to their street cleaning team.

New staff assumed full time positions as cleansing operatives last month and are responsible for litter picking, sweeping and other cleansing duties.

Candidates were sourced through Hounslow Council’s Employment and Skills Workforce team, who assist local people to return to or join the workforce and prepare them for interviews.

Hounslow Highways Divisional Director, Martin Clack, said: “As part of our efforts to invest in Hounslow, our priority is to recruit locally. We have built a strong partnership with our colleagues in Hounslow Council’s employment team and will continue working with them to help fill any future recruitment needs.”

Hounslow Highways is also partnered with local employment agency, Redwood Skills for their business administration apprenticeship scheme.
