Big step forward

Working hard to improve the footpaths across our borough.

In the first five years of our contract, we repaired and improved a large number of footpaths in Hounslow to make walking safer and more enjoyable.

The new footpath surfaces are smoother, safer and longer-lasting. Not all footpaths in the borough require a new surface to bring them up to standard.

Pavement Pledge Initiative

Hounslow Highways is pleased to support the London Borough of Hounslow in delivering an additional 22 footway renewal schemes over the next nine months as part of the Pavement Pledge initiative. When combined with the annual maintenance programme, this results in a total of 82 carriageways and footways being addressed this year. This commitment ensures that Hounslow will maintain its independently recognised status as one of the top highway networks for road condition in London.

The dates provided for the footway schemes are indicative only and are subject to change. They are based on current planning assumptions and are dependent on a range of factors, including contractor scheduling, weather conditions, and unforeseen site constraints. While every effort will be made to adhere to these timelines, the programme may be adjusted as necessary to ensure safe and efficient delivery.

If the kerb outside your home has already been dropped and was done formally through the council, we will replace the dropped kerb as before. If you would like to drop the kerb, there’ll be an opportunity to discuss this before we start work.
