Volunteer Opportunity: Lay Assessor for Hounslow Highways.

Are you passionate about your local area and keen to make a difference?

We’re looking for Lay Assessors to join our established team. Lay Assessors are active members of the public who work alongside us to raise issues and help us improve how we deliver services across Hounslow.

Since 2014, the programme has helped strengthen communication between residents and service providers, leading to real improvements in how we operate.

As a Lay Assessor, you’ll:

• Bring an objective perspective to our work
• Help us understand how services are experienced by the public
• Raise improvements and highlight areas of concern
• Be our link with the community and our teams.

We’re keen to hear from residents in Central and West Hounslow wards, as well as the wider borough, to broaden our representation and ensure all voices are heard.

You don’t need technical expertise — just a willingness to learn, ask questions, and share your views constructively. We’ll support you to understand the complexities of our contract and how services are delivered.

Commitment:

We meet once a month, with a set agenda covering current programmes, schedules, and service updates. Meetings are friendly, informative, and collaborative.
